Julia Campoli

2017 Adult Winner – First Place

Bio

Since last September’s Hoosier Star competition, many wonderful things have taken place in my life! I have become an aunt to my beautiful niece, I graduated from Bethel College and accepted a 6th grade science teaching position in Mishawka, and I got engaged to my amazing boyfriend. I will get married in December, so I have been wedding planning a lot! I have continued to do the thing I love, sing! This summer, Jarynn and I sang for the LaPorte fundraiser “Will Sing 4 Shelter” for Homeward Bound. I am a part of the worship team at my church in South Bend and I am going to attend the songwriting camp, “Emerging Sound”, this summer that I won at the Hoosier Star competition. I am excited to better my writing skills and get a chance to meet many others with the same passion for music and God. I will continue to keep developing my voice and the love I have for music. I am excited to come back and sing again for Hoosier Star this September!

Saige Brumbaugh
2017 Youth Winner – Second Place

Bio

Saige has had a very busy year since her participation in Hoosier Star last September! She was thrilled to be one of the guest performers at the 23rd annual Holiday at the Pops where she once again was able to perform Ava Maria with the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra. Last March, Saige was chosen to participate in a nationwide PBS TV show called “Celebration of Music” hosted by Ethan Bortnick. She was selected for both the Michigan and Chicago show! Being on the show and singing in the studio was definitely a highlight for Saige this year. She has also been keeping herself busy this summer by competing in several different vocal competitions where she placed 1st each time in her age group. This July, Saige will be performing the National Anthem for the very first time at the Hometown Nite Ride in Crown Point. Finally, Saige is grateful to Hoosier Star for helping her to fulfill her dream of becoming an opera singer!
